SMS Terms & Conditions
Last updated: April 6, 2026
The following terms apply to the UrMorning SMS messaging program operated by UrMorning ("we," "us," or "our"). By opting in to receive SMS messages from UrMorning, you agree to these terms.
1. Program Description
Program Name: UrMorning Safety Check-In Alerts
UrMorning is a daily safety check-in service that uses SMS text messaging as a core feature. Our messaging program sends automated text messages related to safety check-ins, reminders, trusted contact alerts, and account notifications.
UrMorning sends SMS messages to two types of recipients:
- App Users: People who download and use the UrMorning App.
- Trusted Contacts: People designated by App users as emergency contacts.
2. Message Types
Messages Sent to App Users
- Account Verification: One-time SMS codes to verify your phone number during sign-up.
- Check-In Reminders: Reminders that your daily check-in time is approaching or has passed.
- Safety Notifications: Alerts about your safety check-in status and incident updates.
Messages Sent to Trusted Contacts
- Consent Request: An initial message asking you to accept or decline the role of trusted contact for an UrMorning user. You must reply YES to opt in.
- Safety Alerts: Messages sent when the UrMorning user who designated you has missed their safety check-in and could not be reached by phone. These messages may include the user's name and home address.
- Check-In Confirmations: Optional daily messages confirming that the UrMorning user has completed their check-in (only if you opted in to receive these).
3. Message Frequency
- App Users: You may receive up to 6 automated text messages per day, including check-in reminders, missed check-in alerts, and account notifications. Message frequency depends on your check-in schedule and account activity.
- Trusted Contacts: You may receive up to 3 text messages per day, including safety alerts and optional check-in confirmations. On most days, you will receive 0-1 messages. Safety alert messages are only sent when the person who designated you has missed their check-in and could not be reached.
4. Opt-In and Consent
For App Users
By providing your phone number during UrMorning account creation and completing phone verification, you expressly consent to receive automated SMS messages from UrMorning related to the safety check-in service. Your consent is obtained through the in-app onboarding flow when you enter your phone number and verify it with a one-time code.
Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. You may purchase a subscription without opting in to SMS messages, though core safety features (reminders, safety calls, trusted contact alerts) require SMS to function.
For Trusted Contacts
When an UrMorning user adds you as a trusted contact, you will receive a single consent request SMS. You must reply YES to opt in to receive safety alert messages. If you reply NO or do not respond, you will not receive further messages. This constitutes your express consent to receive automated text messages from UrMorning.
You are not required to opt in, and opting in is not a condition of any purchase or service.
5. Opt-Out Instructions
You can opt out of UrMorning SMS messages at any time.
To stop receiving messages, reply STOP to any UrMorning text message. You will receive one final confirmation message: "You have been unsubscribed from UrMorning messages and will no longer receive texts."
The following keywords are all honored for opt-out: STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT.
After opting out, you will not receive any further SMS messages from UrMorning. Note that opting out of SMS may affect the functionality of the safety check-in service, including the ability to receive reminders and safety alerts.
6. Help
For help with UrMorning messaging, reply HELP to any UrMorning text message. You will receive a response with support information.
